FAQ

  • Can I sit in with my child?
You can certainly stick around for the lesson! However we ask you to sit in the lobby. Most parents take this opportunity to go shopping or to a quick appointment!
  • How much are private lessons?
$30 per hour and that includes supplies. We also offer hour and a half classes at $45 and semi-private (two students) classes at $25 per student per hour. For younger kids we recoment a 45 minute class which is $25 a lesson
  • When do I need to arive for class?
We ask that you arrive to class no earlier than 10 minutes before your scheduled time. Parents, feel free to drop off your student and pick them up at the end of class. Or if you choose to stay, there will be seating in the lobby for you and any other siblings.
  • How do I sign my kid up for private art lessons?
Call us and let us know your child's name, age, interests in art and what days of the week and times you are available. We will do our best to fit you in with one of our teachers and get back with you when you can start.
  • Do you accept EPIC and Respit Vouchers?
Epic- Yes! Just provide the child's epic number on our registration sheet and we'll be happy to provide lessons! However if the money does run out and there's a remaining fee we do require that payment from the parents. Vouchers- Yes again! Please bring the voucher to the first class filled out with your address and signature.
  • What will the art class teach?
Our private classes are student-led, so whatever the artist is interested in. We can explore acrylic paints, watercolor still-lifes, sculpting food with oven-bake clay, building castles with cardboard boxes and a healthy dose of hot glue and so much more! We are only limited by the students' creativity and our supplies, though we can get supplies for a specialized project for a supply fee depending on the project. If you are looking for something more structured, we do that too. We have homeschool students who come to learn art history, techniques and more. Just let us know what you want to learn and we will do our best to teach it (even if we have to learn it ourselves).
  • What if I cant make it to a lesson?
For group classes, we have one makeup class per six-week session, which is usually done at the end of the session. So if things get a little wacky at home and you miss a lesson, we'll be happy to catch the artist up to his/her classmates. For private lessons, we ask for at least a 4 hour notice or as soon as you can possibly let us know. There is a full class charge for a "no show" (no call, no notice).
  • What will the group class teach?
Our group classes are different every time, we have a theme or technique we plan to teach and build our classes around them. One spring you may find us learning about the history of art in Rome but in the fall our group class is discovering the secrets of colored pencils. Each class is different so we recommend checking in for each of our classes to see what it might be. We will always post our upcoming classes on Facebook so check there for any upcoming group classes!
  • What if I have two kids I want to sign up for group classes but they are in different grades?
Give us a call, we know its hard juggling schedules and if we need to we will move the older kid down to your younger kids class. We are happy to work with you on a solution.
